Dr. Ilya Rabkin is a board-certified family medicine physician with over a decade of experience delivering personalized, relationship-driven care. He founded ZinovyMed to create a more thoughtful and proactive model of healthcare — one that prioritizes time, accessibility, prevention, and long-term health.
Dr. Rabkin earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his commitment to compassionate patient care. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Fairfax Family Practice, serving as Chief Resident, before joining as faculty.
He later became an Assistant Professor at both VCU and UVA, and holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University — combining clinical excellence with healthcare leadership.
"I founded ZinovyMed to practice the kind of medicine I always believed in — where the patient comes first and time is never a constraint."
Dr. Rabkin chose family medicine because of his desire to become a true personal physician — someone who partners with patients to help them live healthier, longer, and more fulfilling lives.
His clinical focus has evolved to include:
Outside of medicine, Dr. Rabkin enjoys hiking and camping with his dog Harley, sailing, and volunteering in the community. His connection to nature and service reflects the holistic philosophy that guides both his life and his approach to patient care.
This same philosophy shapes ZinovyMed — a practice built on genuine relationships, unhurried time, and medicine that treats the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
